About the Event
The Capacity Building Program supported by SAATHII aimed at training community folks from Bishnupur, Kakching and Thoubal.
The event was organised by Matai Society, and conducted by experts such as Bonita - Transgender Health and Wellness Centre, Ammo - Living Manipur, Rohana - Young Transgender Collective, Sopin - All Transman Association Manipur (ATMA). The event was meant to facilitate a dialogue between the various parties we would be interacting with for capacity building. The Importance of having a clear understanding of planning was brought up. This being curated for our communities through this outlook was noted.
The day was unfortunately quite a sad one as 2 transgender women from the town (friends of ours) had met with an unfortunate accident and 1 of them passed away. Meanwhile, one was left in critical condition and is still in intensive care.
In an improvised manner, the discourse shifted towards our resilience and mourning.
