Who We Are & What We Do

MATAI SOCIETY is a women, trans, queer led organization, based at Moirang, Manipur India. The organisation works on education, LGBTQ rights, psycho-social health and livelihood.

The organization works in armed conflict areas in Bishnupur district with focus on marginalised communities.

Mission

Enable access to emergency support during acute crises for extremely low-income and marginalised groups
Achieve financial stability amongst marginalised population through through skill development, network linkages, micro businesses and confidence building
Achieve gender and sexual diversity and inclusivity in society.
Achieve social, legal and political protection and of LGBTQIA persons, women, children and youth.
Achieve wider access and affordable psycho-social health support to marginalised population.

Vision

Our vision is to create a society where every individual, regardless of their background, access to essential resources, opportunities, and rights. We strive for a world where marginalized communities receive the support they need during crises, enjoy inclusive education, and have access to affirmative healthcare. By encouraging collaboration among local organizations and promoting human rights, we aim to empower individuals to lead fulfilling lives while preserving our environment for future generations. Together, we envision a future where diversity is celebrated, and every voice is heard.
