IYONG is a resilient economic response to the Manipur Conflict undertaken by Matai Society, starting in August 2023.

IYONG has employed 45 individuals affected by conflict over the past years. We seek an enthusiastic fellow with a background in textiles, handloom, design, business management and rural development to enhance our understanding of the indigenous textile and fabric industry.
Role
IYONG Livelihood Program Manager
1. Program Development & Implementation​​

Design and Execute livelihood enhancement programs ​

Identify target beneficiaries (e.g., rural weavers, women & marginalised communities)

Collaborative with government bodies, NGOs, donors and private sector partners

Mobilise community participation and ensure inclusive decision assessments
Qualification & Stipend
QUALIFICATION: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Handloom Vocational Studies, Rural Development, Business Management, Design or Social Science, along with experience working with handloom artisans in Manipur.
STARTING FROM: August, 2025
STIPEND: 11000-15000 INR depending on experiences.

Qualification & Stipend
QUALIFICATION: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Handloom Vocational Studies, or Social Science, along with experience working with handloom artisans in Manipur.
DURATION: 1 Month (10 Nov - 10 Dec 2024)
STIPEND: 10000-15000 INR depending on prior skill.
Role
Textile Researcher

Document handloom artisans and their handloom products in Bishnupur district, Manipur.

Produce photo stories, short video documentaries, articles.

Social Media Curation of the above works.
